There are four grades of leather that are taken from the cow. Furniture uses Top Grain and Split Grain where as Leather Jackets and Leather Clothing Use Full Grain, Top Grain and Split Grain Leather. There is a fourth grade but it is not used much it is called Bonded Leather or Patched Leather.
